Ride With Me by Ruthie Knox

by Ruthie Knox

When Lexie Marshall places an ad for a cycling companion, she hopes to find someone friendly and fun to cross the TransAmerica Trail with. Instead, she gets Tom Geiger -- a lean, sexy loner whose bad attitude threatens to spoil the adventure she's spent years planning.

Roped into the cycling equivalent of a blind date by his sister, Tom doesn't want to ride with a chatty, go-by-the-map kind of woman, and he certainly doesn't want to want her. Too bad the sight of Lexie with a bike between her thighs really turns his crank.
Even Tom's stubborn determination to keep Lexie at a distance can't stop a kiss from leading to endless nights of hotter-than-hot sex. But when the wild ride ends, where will they go next?

Tom Geiger is a self-professed loner. His life was turned upside down years ago and he has decided to remain tethered to his past forever, but he has always loved to ride. When his sister hooks him up with a riding companion to blaze the TransAmerican trail, he is none too happy.

All Lexie Marshall wants to do is ride cross country, she could do it alone, but she would prefer not to. She soon discovers that the guy who answered her ad is anything but "fifty-five, jovial, and balding," in fact he's thirty-five years young, crabby, and smokin' HOT! The stirring in her loins is soon dissipated by his grumpiness and poor people skills. What on earth has she gotten herself into?

Ride With Me is romance at its best! Lexie is an adorable A-type and Tom is a snarky grouch, they couldn't be more opposite, but you know what they say "opposites attract." I could feel the chemistry between them right away, it was magnetic (I'm keeping with the opposing forces theme here). Ruthie Knox made the attraction palpable, so much so that I didn't want to stop reading.
I really love it when I can tell that a writer has done their homework, and Ruthie did; I wasn't just reading about the Trans-Am trail, I was riding it.  The imagery of the landscape, from Oregon to Virginia, was thorough, without being too wordy. But Ruthie is not just good at scenery, she can also build romantic tension with the best of em'!  That's right, Ruthie Knox can write romance alright, I could imagine the lust in Tom's eyes, the beat of Lexie's heart, and the gravitational pull of their attraction. Fantastic!

If you're looking for a romance novel, a really good one, Ride With Me is the book for you. I loved it and I know you will too!
