While I'm Still Myself by Jeremy Mark Lane

While I'm Still Myself
by Jeremy Mark Lane

Goodreads:
A passionate December love affair.
The meeting of an unexpected traveler.
The consequences of protecting a young new acquaintance.
A journey into an unknown past.

In the stories of While I’m Still Myself, Jeremy Lane eloquently describes the life changing impact of the brief encounter, showing that life and love are not shaped by an entire lifetime, but by the fleeting moments with unexpected people in unexpected places.

Review:

While I'm Still Myself is a collection of short stories that range from interrupted love to child abuse. The characters of each story share a common desire to see change while they are still who they've always been...themselves.

There will come a time when each of us will be faced with a situation that will change the very core of who we are. Whether we realize it or not we will be many different versions of ourselves during the course of this life. This collection of stories touches on a few life altering situations that are the epitome of art imitating life.

Jeremy Mark Lane does a remarkable job conveying the emotions of his characters. My heart strings were tugged in each story, with Reflection Only Hers being my personal favorite. Surprise endings, regrets, justice, longing, and secrets, can all be found in this little book.  While the theme tied the stories together, each stood strongly on their own.

It didn't take long to read, but I found that I had to take a step back after each story to reflect. I love it when a book stirs me into thoughtfulness, don't you?  I encourage you to read this book, even if you aren't a fan of short stories, this could be the book that changes your mind!

I give this book:
