Aftermath: A Snapped Novel by Tracy Brown

Aftermath: A Snapped NovelAftermath is the first book that I received through the Library Things Early Reviewers program, so I was very excited that I had even been picked to receive a selection. I must say that the book did not disappoint.
Aftermath, is the story of Misa Atkinson, who murders her sister’s brother-in-law, Steven, because she suspected he had molested her son. Her sister, Camille, is in the midst of dealing with her estranged husband and his mistress, when she finds out that she is pregnant; only to come home and find that Misa has murdered Steven. Things only get more complicated from there.
Misa and Camille find comfort in their dearest friends, Dominique and Toya, whose lives are also taking some unexpected turns. Toya’s daughter, Octavia has run away, and Dominique’s abusive father, has returned to make amends. Camille's husband, Frankie has not only left her for another woman, but he also has ties to the mob, which muddles up an already messy situation. These four women endure life changing situations over the course of the novel. Secrets from the past are revealed, wounds are exposed, and regret bubbles to the surface. Drama...lots and lots of drama!
Despite the complexity of overlapping stories, Tracy Brown does a remarkable job of keeping confusion to a minimum.  This novel held my attention from cover to cover!

I give this book:

I received this book free from the publisher through the Library Thing Early Reviewers program.  I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

In the synopsis it says that Toya's daughter is Octavia. Dominique is Octavia's mother. I read Snapped, and I couldn't wait for this sequel. I'm listening to Aftermath on cd as I'm typing this and I'm loving it.
